Distribution of electricity is the transportation of electricity from the transmission system operator (or electricity producers) to consumers through the networks of the distribution system operator (i.e., various regional energy companies, DTEK).
Transmission of electricity is the transportation of electricity through the networks of the transmission system operator (i.e. Ukrenergo) from power plants to the connection points of the DSO (distribution system operator) distribution systems.
Yes, depending on the consumer's wishes.
This procedure is quite simple and does not require much effort and time, because one of the essential conditions of the contract for the supply of electricity to the consumer is the procedure for changing the electricity supplier.
No provision of the contract for the supply of electricity to a consumer shall restrict the consumer's right to change electricity supplier. In addition, the contract may not contain provisions that impose additional financial obligations on the consumer who exercises the said right. Otherwise, such provision shall be deemed invalid from the moment of conclusion of the contract.
At the same time, an important condition for exercising the right to free choice of electricity supplier is the presence of a consumer agreement concluded with the system operator for the provision of electricity distribution (transmission) services.
The consumer can change their electricity supplier free of charge.
If the consumer chooses another electricity supplier, the consent of the previous electricity supplier to terminate the contract with him for the supply of electricity to the consumer is not required.
Until the termination of the electricity supply contract with the consumer, the previous electricity supplier is obliged to ensure the supply of electricity to the consumer under the terms of the current contract.
Changing the electricity supplier at the initiative of the consumer must be completed within no more than three weeks from the date of notification by such consumer of the intention to change the electricity supplier.
The process of changing the electricity supplier by the consumer is provided by the entities (participants) of the electricity market and the participants of the retail electricity market, who are involved in the process of changing the electricity supplier and ensure the change and information exchange during such a change free of charge.
* submission of an application for accession to the contract for the supply of electricity to the selected electricity supplier on the terms of the selected commercial offer and documents specified by the Retail Market Rules;
* receiving confirmation of the start of the procedure for changing the electricity supplier (or, if it is not possible to change the electricity supplier, receiving a notification from the new electricity supplier about the impossibility of making the change, providing appropriate justification and recommendations);
* receipt from the previous electricity supplier no later than 5 calendar days before the expiration of the electricity supply contract of an electricity bill generated on the basis of forecast commercial accounting data;
* taking actual readings of the measuring instrument(s) in the presence of the consumer and/or system operator;
* making mutual settlements with the previous electricity supplier (within 5 working days from the date of receipt of the final invoice).
